Relationships and Sexuality Education

The Governing Body has approved the use of Life to the Full, a Relationships and Sexuality Education programme developed by Ten Ten Resources and endorsed by the Catholic Education Service. The programme supports the delivery of the statutory Relationships and Sexuality Education requirements of the Curriculum for Wales while remaining faithful to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.

The programme provides a carefully sequenced and age-appropriate curriculum that promotes the holistic development of children and their understanding of relationships, human dignity, personal wellbeing and their responsibilities within family, school and society. It is rooted in the belief that every person is uniquely created, chosen and loved by God, and is designed to help pupils develop spiritually, morally, emotionally, socially and physically.

Life to the Full incorporates a wide range of engaging resources, including films, stories, discussion activities, prayer opportunities, music and reflective activities. Learning is presented in a sensitive and developmentally appropriate way, enabling pupils to deepen their understanding of themselves, their relationships with others and their relationship with God.

The programme is fully inclusive and recognises the importance of working in partnership with parents, carers and parish communities. Through this shared approach, children are supported to grow in knowledge, virtue and faith, enabling them to flourish as confident individuals and disciples of Christ.
