Parent Support Information

“When schools and parents work together, children thrive—growing in confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.”

Supporting Your Child at Home

At St Mary’s, we value the important role parents and carers play in their child’s learning and development. A child’s education extends beyond the classroom, and the support they receive at home has a big impact on their confidence, wellbeing, and progress. This section provides guidance, resources, and practical tips to help you support your child in a way that fits into everyday family life. Whether it’s fostering a love of reading, encouraging independence, or promoting emotional wellbeing, we’re here to help.

Here, you will find information on:

🔹 Wellbeing – Encouraging positive mental health, emotional resilience, and healthy routines.
🔹 Child Development – Understanding how children grow, learn, and develop key skills.
🔹 Learning at Home – Ideas and strategies to support reading, writing, maths, and other areas of learning in everyday life.

To make it easier to find relevant support, we have separate sections for:

🧸 Early Years
🎨 Foundation Phase
📚 Key Stage 2

We hope you find this information helpful in supporting your child’s journey through primary school. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
