At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, the safety and well-being of our pupils are our top priorities. We have strong safeguarding measures in place to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and supported. Our staff are trained to identify and respond to any concerns, and we work closely with parents and the wider community to promote a secure learning environment.
‘Safety is Everybody’s Responsibility’ display is prominently displayed in each block in our school. This provides all members of the school community with important information about how to keep safe and who to talk to if anyone is worried or concerned about their own or somebody else’s safety.
Heddlu Cymru Wales Police Schools’ Programme- SchoolsBeat
We are also proud to take part in the SchoolsBeat programme, led by PC Ellis. This initiative helps educate children about important safety topics, including online safety, anti-bullying, and making positive choices. Through engaging sessions, PC Ellis supports pupils in understanding how to stay safe both in and out of school. Please see programme below:-

If you have any questions about safeguarding, please contact our designated safeguarding leads, Mrs Acton, Mrs Jones, Mrs Robertson and Mrs Gillett.
Together, we can keep our school a safe and welcoming place for all.
Here are some activities we have covered as part of PC Ellis’ work in our school this year 2025
