St. Mary’s has been an Eco School for many years and we currently hold Eco Schools Platinum Status which is the most prestigious Eco Schools Award.
The aim of the Eco Schools Initiative is to empower students to be the change that our sustainable world needs by engaging them in fun, action orientated learning. Each year a new Eco Committee is elected and priorities are set for the year. Meetings are attended and coordinated by the Eco/
Healthy Schools Pupil Voice Coordinator and ongoing progress is provided by Eco Committee representative at each Full Governors’ Meeting. The Eco Committee represents the views of the whole school and act as the focus to push forward actions and discuss progress.
